The photo presentation “Oben und unten” (“Above and below”) was shot during a 14 day stay as artist in residence in Haugsdorf and surrounding (Lower Austria). Then it was completed in my studio in the Waldviertel.

It deals with the polarities above and below and every day consciousness/extraordinary perception and connects methods of documentary with such of abstract photography. The landscape of the Pulkau valley in the Weinviertel around Haugsdorf faces the underground storerooms of the vine cellars; the seemingly clear perception of every day confronts the drunken sight of the extraordinary.
